Toys for Tots Fundraiser Turkey Shoot

11/14/2019

This year Old Skagit was again an Official Toys for Tots site, hosting the annual Turkey Shoot on November 9th. This is a fun activity for all levels of shooters and raises money for an excellent cause during the holiday season.  Lee Schuirman, a Mason and Marine, picked up a $5,000 check that included donations from corporate sponsors Pacific Tank & Body, Quantum Construction, SRV Construction, Masonic Lodge #77 of Anacortes, and Moose Lodge #1640 of Mt. Vernon.
Please read the letter below from club President, Chuck Manning, for more details and acknowledgements.  Hope to see you next year!

Toys For Tots - Turkey Shoot Fundraiser

Saturday, Nov. 9th with real wet looking overcast skies, Moose Old
Skagit Gun Club hosted this annual event.  We were blessed with a
reprieve from the rain and the most successful shoot in our history.

Ladies associated with Moose Lodge #1640 made a wonderful turkey dinner
for us.  They made great smells and fed 72 with plates of a traditional
meal, thank you so much.

Members of Masonic Lodge #77 spent the last 2 months traveling to lodges
throughout our area pre-selling targets and adding to the coffers in
excess of $800.00.

Our thanks to the Masons who not only attended in record numbers but
staffed our trap fields.

Henry Park again organized our Pig Shoot which was also the biggest in
history.  The boys from Granite Falls and Bellingham Gun Clubs teamed up
to beat out MOSGC shooters.  A twelve year old boy shooting a pump gun
as long as he was tall made the most spectacular shoot of the day when
he backed up the best Granite Falls had to offer.

Again we cannot thank local business enough for their support, they
don't do this for recognition but they deserve it anyway. Quantum
Construction, Welch Brothers Construction, SRV Construction, Mr & Mrs.
Johnson & Pacific Tank & Body all helped make another charitable record.

So many people contributed the most valuable and rare commodity in this
day and age, their time.  We all worked together collectively to provide
a pick up load of toys and a check for $5000.00 which exceeds all
previous events .

We at MOSGC thank you for all your participation & contributions.

Sincerely,
C.S. Manning, President
Moose Old Skagit Gun Club
