Toys for Tots Fundraiser--Thanks to Everybody from Chuck Manning, Gun Club President

Mother Nature clearly got the memo about our Toys for Tots Fundraiser Shoot last Saturday and withheld her rain.  It was great to see that our biggest problem was a packed to overcapacity parking lot.  It would have been hard to squeeze more fun out of this day because we had absolutely everything running to the maximum capacity and it worked smoothly.
According to our Chief Statistician (Jack Kennedy), the Moose Lodge kitchen team served close to 100 meals.  We had no left overs and a bulging donation bucket for appreciation of their culinary talents.
Mr. and Mrs. T. Johnson from Anacortes added to our efforts when they contributed 2 raffle baskets.  They made a great team collecting donations to enhance our check amount to Toys for Tots, hope they are regulars at our events.  Mrs. Johnson did another overwhelming job collecting funds for the cause throughout Anacortes.
We had a wonderful contingent from Dist. 9 of the Free and Accepted Masons of Washington.  These guys showed up with gifts, donations, shot several events and participated in running the games, what a blessing they were.
Farm and Family Mission Church had volunteer staff to keep score, run the games and do some shooting, very much appreciated.
Our Famous Pig Shoot was a disaster with top honors going to our Brendon Toyama for the second time in a row, who was partnered with Granite Falls refugee, Don Reamers.  This is a really exciting event, congratulations you two, just be here next time so we can get another whack at ya.
Companies in our area were very gratuitous and those include Reisner Distributor, Welch Brothers, Quantum Construction, SRV Construction and others.
This year’s check to Toys for Tots will be $8350.00, which is the greatest amount we’ve ever done, there’s a huge pile of toys to go with that check as well.
I’ve said all these nice things about groups that come out and contribute to this cause, but it’s the Gun Club that provides the facility and frame work for all this.  Moose Old Skagit Gun Club, good for you, great job and I hope you’re all proud of what you accomplished.

Sincerely, Chuck Manning
President
